How the calculation works
Cost per 25 g protein = price ÷ (servings × protein per serving) × 25
A worked example
A $30 tub with 30 servings of 24 g protein contains 720 g protein and costs about $1.04 per 25 g. A $40 tub with 40 servings of 25 g contains 1,000 g protein and costs $1.00 per 25 g.
Why scoop prices can mislead
Two servings can contain different amounts of protein. Multiply the labelled protein per serving by the number of servings to find total protein, then divide the price by that total. The calculator keeps full precision until the result is displayed.
Common questions
Should I enter the weight of a scoop?
No. Enter the protein grams in a serving. A 30 g scoop might contain 24 g protein; the remainder could include carbohydrate, fat, flavouring or other ingredients.
Can I compare whey with plant protein?
You can compare the price per equal mass of protein. That does not establish equivalent amino-acid profiles, digestibility or suitability for your needs.
Method: arithmetic from the label values you enter. Reviewed .
